Justice Denied: Honoring Monique Brooks and the Struggle for Equality
Monique Brooks, a member of the Black Trans community died a horrible death. She was brutally murdered in the Burlington Coat Factory parking lot in Orlando. Black transgender individuals suffer greater levels of discrimination, poverty and violent assaults than their white peers. In addition, as an invisible and polarized minority cases that involve murder are more likely not to be solved. The Everyday People Campaign follows the concept of liberty and justice for everyone. We offer our condolences to the Brooks family and the Trans community.
